Covid-19 Pandemic - Goldfields Settlements’ business operations

The first point is that we are still operating, but with very limited face to face dealings.

Nonetheless we hope to continue to deliver the same high standards of service we strive to deliver to our buyer and seller clients as well as to our industry colleagues in real estate, finance broking and banking.

At this stage (26 March 2020) we are operating from within our office, but with the door closed.

This may change with staff operating from home and phone lines diverted etc, but if that is the case, we will advise you.

If you need to talk to us, please ring us on 9021-4599 (our normal phone number) or out of hours, ring Paul Browning’s mobile (0416171809). We should be able to refer to documents you have received from us and answer any questions relating to them, or to any other matter relating to the settlement process.

We understand the documents we send you may require explanation and we want you to ring us and ask questions about them.

We also understand this is a somewhat bewildering time for us all, but that we haven’t forgotten what we do and why we do it and that there are no silly questions when you are buying or selling property, just very good questions you should have asked, before it was too late.

If you need to return documents to us, please email them to us, or post them back to us or simply slide them under our office door at 63 Hannan St, on the corner of Porter St straight across Hannan St from Montys.

If you need your identity verified, as is required by law for all buyers and sellers, likewise please ring us and make an appointment. When you attend our office, we will get you to slide your identity documents under the door and we will copy them as if we were completing a face to face identity verification without charge, because that is precisely what we are doing. This will save you $49 (each) at Australia Post.

In the very unlikely event we need to see you, we will ring you and explain the circumstances, and how this will be achieved.

Of course, it goes without saying, that you should not be anywhere other than in isolation (preferably in your home) if you have recently returned from overseas, have been in contact with a person with Covid-19 or if you are exhibiting symptoms of cold, flu or pneumonia.

Best wishes to all our clients and industry partners. Together we will get through this as long as we exercise due care, common sense and social distancing.

And remember, if you are not at work, seeking medical attention or shopping for essential supplies, you should be at home.
